Recommended Skateboard Size(Width) by the style of skateboarding

Please note this info it may not be so relavant for buying a first time skateboard.

Wider the board more stable it is and narrower the board can be easier to flip.

Flat ground Tricks : You can choose a skinnier board if you want to learn a lot of flip tricks. 

Vert Style/Bowl Riding or Cruising: Wider board can give you more stability as it has more room for your foot.

Length can be varied between the manufacturers for the same width

Wheel base

Wheel base is the length measured in between nose side inner deck bolt hole and tail side inner deck bot hole of the deck.

Wheel base also varies between the manufacturers for the same width & length

Wider the wheel base is better for people with long legs and Shorter they are better for short legs.

Nose

Nose is the front end of the board.

It's always wider and longer than the tail even though sometime they look symmetrical.

Tail

Tail is the back end of the board.
